Watch this highly interesting split-screen video that combines a general view of the runway through the cockpit windshield with a shot that shows the individual pilots at work. Listen to the radio communication and decide for yourself whether steering an aircraft to its takeoff position is similar to parking a heavy truck in a crammed spot between two bridge piers. The Airbus A340 is a widebody twin-aisle passenger airliner and is considered the first truly long-range aircraft produced by Airbus.
