Safety instructions are usually boring and although highly important, passengers hardly seem to pay attention to them. This is about to change, at least at British Airways. Celebrities, among them for example Academy Award nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor, Gordon Ramsey, Gillian Anderson or Rowan Atkinson, to just mention a few, can now be seen auditioning in humorous sketches in front of comedian Asim Chaudhry, as Chabuddy G, for British Airways’ new safety video. The celebrities demonstrate the safety features and procedures on the aircraft, such as the use of the life jacket, how to make sure you’re not blocking the aisles or how to fold up the tray table. This hilarious presentation is a real breakthrough in conveying important information in such a way that viewers will remember it, probably forever. However, this project was not only designed to help passengers absorb important safety messages, it was also intended to boost fund-raising for ‘Flying Start’, the global charity partnership between British Airways and Comic Relief.
