Painting an aircraft is far more than just a change of color. It conveys an image, it supports brand communication and it is the first impression passengers get when they board a booked flight. In other words, paint makes a statement. But, paint is also important for protecting the aircraft’s hull against corrosion and deterioration. Paint, however, is a rather general term comprising components, such as resins, color pigments, lacquers, enamels and primers, which are sprayed, brushed or dipped, depending on the method most suitable for the purpose.
