Some cities give young graffiti artists the opportunity to spray their pieces of arts on public walls or facades. Swiss, however, does something similar by letting Mathias Forbach, aka FICHTRE, turn a Bombardier CS300, now called Airbus A220, into a flying piece of art. The illustrations all reflect the region’s most iconic sites, its beauty, diversity and values. The film was produced as part of a campaign for SWISS’ social media channels. For selecting just the right artist, a wide-scale two-phase competition was held over a number of months. The first question SWISS asked the Swiss Romands, was: “What does Swiss Romandy mean to you?” The response was overwhelming. Over 7,000 people answered this question either with a slogan, a phrase or just a word that proved how the people feel about their home region: Pride in the region, its nature, its inhabitants and their achievements.
